We’ve been seeing an influx of coconut water on our local grocery store shelves. We use it when we make our Tropical Shakeology. It tastes amazing. So we got to wondering, is coconut water good for you? Does it actually have any health benefits? There are no medical studies out there to prove or disprove [...]
Pfizer Faux Pas
So how many of you ladies (and gentlemen) freaked out when you heard about the Pfizer recall on Lo Ovral 28 (ethinyl estradiol and norgestrel) with a certain lot number? Like the millions of other people who apparently used these bad pills, I sure did. So did my husband. We would like children some day, [...]
Surprise Savings From Southwest Airlines Screw-Up
In today’s volume-driven business climate, it’s rare to be surprised by a random act of kindness or even just a company accepting responsibility for its glaring fault. This past week we were pleasantly shocked by an airline which is even more uncommon. We’ve all watched the 9/11 security fees, body scanner charges, lost change tally, luggage [...]
What happened to Digestive Advantage coupons?
The answer is a little complicated. I have been experiencing some digestive discomfort, namely pretty severe constipation for the last few days. I have no idea why but it may be related to diet or changes in the weather, or my new pants. Who knows. A recommendation was made for Digestive Advantage’s once daily Constipation [...]
Target Clinic Gave Me Granuloma
Nice. Just got a letter from Target Clinic, informing me that the steroid injection I received around Christmas time was tainted with “particles” and entire batches including the batch my shot came from, are being recalled. Recalled because of the possibility of granuloma formation. WHAT? American Regent Initiates Voluntary Nationwide Recall of Dexamethasone Sodium Phosphate [...]

Allergic to something? Fast Food, Fine Print.
I recently took a road trip to Iowa. Well, when you’re out of town, you have to eat out a lot. For me, this is more difficult than the average person because I have Celiac Disease. I can’t eat anything with gluten in it. Not even a LITTLE BIT. Well, I was inside a mall [...]
Where’s My Carrier Pigeon?
So perhaps you received one of the following two email today. Let’s begin with the first. I received this early in the morning and read it in awe. Dear Valued Best Buy Customer, On March 31, we were informed by Epsilon, a company we use to send emails to our customers, that files containing the [...]
To Android or not to Android
Businesses treat us like crap. AND WE PAY THEM FOR IT! Why?
Maybe I should just get an iPhone. Or a Zack Morris Brick Phone.
After 8 months of up-and-down GPS hell with Sprint and a Samsung Moment, I was finally convinced to “upgrade” to the Samsung Transform. Well now this one has an interesting “quirk”. And it’s really special considering the name of the device.
Screen orientation won’t transform on the home screens. No, it has nothing to do with the change orientation setting, and neither a soft reset nor hard reset will fix the problem. Orientation will change depending on how you hold the phone when you’re using most any program, but return to a home screen and bam–you’re locked into portrait view. No landscape for you. (said in the Soup Nazi voice)
I’m told that it’s just another one of those great “known issues” that I’ll have to deal with until/if Samsung releases an update. To help hasten any sign of a fix, Sprint actually has advised me to “post on Google and the forums” in order to get the attention of the responsible software developers.
Nice.
Wanted: Dancing Paperclip
Apparently times are tough at good ol’ Tarjay. They can’t even afford spell check. Take a look at these screenshots, taken from the Target Pharmacy section of target.com at 1:30AM on 1/30/2011. Pfft, it’s not like a spelling mistake or typo when filling a perscription could have life-threatening consequences — right?
